Goth? I think not!

Christian Audigier, a hot upcoming designer, can definitely be considered unique.  The whole tattoo t-shirt trend came about a couple years ago and has finally exploded.  He has found a way to make this hard-core style trendy.
The major misconception about brands like Ed Hardy and Affliction/Sinful is that only gothic people wear it.  That is totally FALSE!  These brands have become very popular among UFC fighters.  Affliction has even designed shirts for specific fighters and sponsors them.  In my opinion, these shirts are fabulous!  Designers like Christian Audigier can make a simple t-shirt look rich and classy.  He has made dresses and tunics that are totally cute with tights and Uggs for the winter.  Add a fur coat and you are set for a night at the clubs.  I think guys got the better end of the deal though.  Amazing hoodies and sports coats were designed with pin stripes, chrome, and crystals to make them look classically flashy.  Great for club attire in Vegas.
OK, there is one thing that bothers me.  I happen to live in a small town, therefore there are not many places to shop.  Because of the lack of clothing, guys and girls (mostly guys) will all buy the same damn shirts.  So when we go out to the bars, every guy that wears this kind of stuff will have the same shirt on as the guy standing across the bar from him...EMBARRASSING!  Have you ever heard of ordering online??  Try it sometime.
Now that I've gotten off track I would like to go back to the style many people consider dark and gothic.  If you accessorize correctly and don't wear too much black eyeliner and go to the tanning bed once in a while, you will pull off this sexy, seductive look with ease.  And did I mention you will look fabulous?  If you add some Jess Simpson boots or YSL pumps, you will turn heads for sure!

Fugly Bridesmaid Dresses!

Why are bridesmaid dresses always ugly??  I mean is it a rule that it has to look like an 80's prom dress?  Chiffon is a totally hideous fabric anyway.  I know wedding fashion is a weird thing to blog about but I can't help but think about it because all of my friends are tying the knot soon and maybe even myself.  I've been to my fair share of weddings and believe me, I have yet to find an amazing bridesmaid dress!  AND, what is with the brides making these girls wear the same damn dress?!?  Drives me crazy...  Everyone is unique and should have their own style.  This is how fashion even came about...people having their own original look.
I hate to bring her up but Kenley from the last season of Project Runway designed a brilliant bridesmaid dress!  It was short and sassy with a bubble bottom!  SO HOT!  If I were a bridesmaid I would be more than thrilled to wear that!  With a little bit of research, I found a designer with Kenley's flair.  Lazaro.  Brilliant use of fabrics, textures, and colors.  He even uses pockets!  I love it!  His wedding dress designs are amazing as well.  I just don't understand why more wedding/bridesmaid dress designers can't use upcoming trends in their new designs.  If I knew anything about textiles and sewing I would be all over the wedding dress business.  There could be lots of money to follow trendy designs.
I'm from California but now live in Alabama.  There is a vast difference in style from one state to the other.  I understand that people in the South may not follow the trends of L.A. or New York simply because they are not surrounded by it.  BUT, why must the girls down here be so traditional??  I'm sorry but that's just boring.  Have some fun with your fashion, even if it is your wedding.  You can still be classy and fabulous at the same time without being trashy.  Coco Chanel knows what she's talking about...
I don't mean to bash the traditional, old school way of a wedding.  However, times are changing.  Fashion is probably changing faster than we can keep up with.  It's time for wedding dress designers to throw the glitter and chiffon away!  It's time for bubblishous, flower happy, loose fitting, accessory friendly, fabulous bridesmaid dresses!  Don't forget your Christian Louboutin stilettos...screw the generic, ugly, Payless pumps that the bride makes you wear.
